About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and resilient SEND Teaching Assistant to join our team at a PRU in Kidderminster, supporting pupils with special educational needs and disabilities who require a nurturing, structured, and consistent learning environment. This is a rewarding role for someone passionate about making a positive difference to the lives of young people who may display social, emotional, and behavioural needs alongside additional learning needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups to access learning and achieve individual targets
  • Assist in managing behaviour positively, using de-escalation and trauma-informed approaches
  • Work closely with teachers, SENDCo, and pastoral staff to implement individual education and behaviour plans
  • Support pupils' emotional regulation, engagement, and wellbeing
  • Help create a safe, calm, and inclusive learning environment
  • Record progress and contribute to reviews and meetings as required
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
  • Experience working with children or young people with SEND and/or SEMH needs
  • A calm, patient, and resilient approach
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • The ability to build positive, trusting relationships with pupils
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
  • Relevant qualifications or training are desirable but not essential
