Job Description
OverviewWe are seeking a skilled and experienced Structural Inspector specializing in Structural assessments to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in civil engineering, with a focus on bridges and structures. The Bridge Inspector will be responsible for conducting thorough inspections of bridges, evaluating structural integrity, and providing detailed reports on the condition of bridges and related infrastructure.
The role requires a keen eye for detail, excellent analytical skills, and a deep understanding of structural engineering principles.
- Conduct routine and specialized inspections to assess their structural integrity and safety.
- Utilize a variety of inspection methods, including visual assessments, non-destructive testing, and instrumentation, to evaluate the condition of bridge components.
- Document and record detailed findings during inspections, including any signs of deterioration, damage, or potential hazards.
- Prepare comprehensive inspection reports outlining the condition of the bridge, the severity of any identified issues, and recommendations for maintenance or repairs.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to analyze inspection data and develop repair and maintenance plans for bridges and associated structures.
- Stay current on industry standards, codes, and regulations related to bridge inspection and structural engineering.
- Provide technical expertise and guidance to junior inspectors or engineering staff involved in bridge inspections.
- Work closely with project managers, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure that inspection activities are coordinated effectively and project timelines are met.
- Participate in meetings with clients, regulatory agencies, and other relevant parties to communicate inspection findings and recommendations.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil / Structural Engineering or a related field.
- Master's degree is a plus. Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
- Proven experience in site supervision and structural assessment, with a minimum of 8 - 12 years in a similar role.
- Entertainment or Museum project experience is preferred.
- In‑depth knowledge of structural engineering principles, materials, and construction methods.
- Familiarity with relevant codes and standards such as AASHTO, ASCE, and FHWA.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with attention to detail.
