Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED; 4 years’ experience in the engineering and maintenance or related professional area; technical training in HVAC‑R (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration) / electrical/plumbing.
- 2‑year degree from an accredited university in Building and Construction, Engineering, Mechanics, or related major; 2 years’ experience in the engineering and maintenance or related professional area; technical training in HVAC‑R/electrical/plumbing.
- Oversee distribution of repair work orders.
- Ensure property policies are administered fairly and consistently.
- Plan, schedule, and evaluate preventative maintenance programs.
- Maintain open, collaborative relationships with associates.
- Monitor timeliness and quality of completion of repair work orders.
- Supervise Engineering and related areas in absence of the Director of Engineering.
- Assist in managing the physical plant including equipment, refrigerationuks, HVAC, plumbing, water treatment, electrical and life safety systems.
- Ensure regular ongoing communication with associates to create awareness of business objectives, communicate expectations, and recognize performance.
- Arrange additional services such as painting, repair work, renovations, and replacement of furnishings and equipment.
- Select, order, or purchase new equipment, supplies, and furnishings.
- Supervise day‑to‑day operations of Engineering and related departments while maintaining property standards.
- Inspect and evaluate the physical condition of facilities to determine required work.
- Maintain accurate logs and records as required.
- Operate generators and fire pumps as necessary.
- Provide 24/7 emergency response services.
- Repair equipment (e.g., refrigeration, laundry) as necessary.
- Ensure all associates have proper supplies, equipment, and uniforms.
- Empower associates to provide excellent customer service.
- Emphasize guest satisfaction during all departmental meetings and focus on continuous improvement.
- Set a positive example for guest relations.
- Participate in interviewing and hiring of team members with appropriate skills.
- Use available on‑the‑job training tools to train new associates and provide follow‑up training as necessary.
- Communicate performance expectations in accordance with job descriptions for each position.
- Conduct a departmental orientation program for associates to receive the appropriate new hire training and successfully perform their job.
- Ensure associates understand company, resort, and departmental expectations and parameters.
- Ensure associates are cross‑trained to support daily operations.
- Maintain open collaborative relationships with associates and ensure associates do the same with them.
- Schedule associates to meet business demands and track time and attendance.
- Ensure property policies עצמ administered fairly and consistently, disciplinary procedures, and documentation are completed per policy.
- Observe service behaviors of associates and provide feedback to individuals situazione.
- Ensure associate recognition occurs on all shifts.
- Solicit associate feedback, utilize an “open door” policy, and review associate satisfaction results to identifyusing and address associate problems or concerns.
- Participate in associate progressive discipline procedures.
- Review associate satisfaction results.
