Job SummaryThe Radiology Technologist I is responsible for obtaining diagnostic-quality radiographic images while adhering to departmental standards and protocols. This role collaborates with healthcare professionals to ensure safety, accuracy, and patient comfort.
Essential Functions- Performs high-quality radiographic procedures independently, ensuring reproducible and diagnostic images.
- Practices radiation safety principles in accordance with ALARA guidelines and participates in programs to minimize exposure.
- Prepares patients, verifies orders, confirms identity, and explains procedures to ensure understanding and comfort.
- Demonstrates competencies across relevant patient demographics.
- Cleans and maintains imaging equipment in compliance with infection control protocols.
- Ensures availability and organization of supplies and equipment.
- Inserts IV catheters for contrast injections during CT or MRI procedures, following departmental policies.
- Scans and verifies documents into PACS for radiologist interpretation.
- Communicates effectively with team members and patients.
- Identifies and mitigates artifacts to ensure image quality.
- Performs other duties as assigned and complies with policies.
- 0-1 years of clinical experience as a radiologic technologist.
- Proficiency in operating radiology equipment.
- Knowledge of radiographic techniques, anatomy, and positioning.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Understanding of radiation safety and infection control.
- Attention to detail and organizational skills.
- ARRT certification required.
- State licensure as applicable.
- BCLS certification within 30 days of hire.
