Position summary
The Director of Sales leads Five-Star Audiovisual’s sales efforts at the assigned property, guiding customers through their event journey to deliver solutions that achieve their goals and create compelling experiences. This role drives revenue growth, cultivates long-term client and hotel partnerships, and ensures customer satisfaction through strategic planning and execution. The Director of Sales manages and supports sales and event production processes, leveraging tools and resources to maximize event capture, strengthen relationships, and uphold Five-Star’s reputation for excellence.
As a leader, the Director of Sales provides training, guidance, and support to property-level sales and event production staff to ensure alignment with Five-Star’s business strategies and customer service standards.
Responsibilities
- Lead Five-Star Audiovisual’s sales efforts at the assigned property, guiding customers through their event journey to deliver solutions that meet goals and create compelling experiences.
- Drive revenue growth and cultivate long-term client and hotel partnerships.
- Manage and support sales and event production processes; maximize event capture and strengthen relationships.
- Provide training, guidance, and support to property-level sales and event production staff to ensure alignment with company strategies and standards.
Qualifications
- Direct experience with related customer service responsibilities. Proven ability to develop positive customer relationships and increase customer satisfaction and loyalty.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a high-volume environment.
- Ability to capture new business by researching client organizations through various resources.
- Proactive listening and follow-up to understand and meet customer needs while maximizing profits.
- Understanding of the local market, ability to handle objections and competition, and the capacity to act as a trusted advisor.
- Strong communication skills (oral and written), clear, concise, sincere, and persuasive.
- Leadership qualities, ability to develop others, and provide timely coaching.
- Pursues sales goals beyond what is required or expected.
Experience Required
- Minimum of 5 years experience in the audiovisual industry
- Advanced knowledge and experience with audiovisual setups and strikes
- Exceptional customer service or hospitality experience
- Valid Driver's License and a clean driving record are required to operate a company vehicle
- Certification in audiovisual technology or related courses (preferred)
Required Technical Skills (Minimum)
- Audio – microphones, speakers, sound systems, channel mixers, etc.
- Video – LCD, LED, projectors, screens, monitors, etc.
- Lighting – decor, traditional and intelligent fixtures, basic lighting kits, stage lighting, etc.
- Computers – advanced knowledge of PC and Mac software
