Job Purpose And Summary

As a DSP, you cover pharmacist scheduling gaps, support pharmacy teams under the direction of the Pharmacy Manager and Rx District Leader, and oversee pharmacy operations across the district.

• Living our purpose by helping to manage and improve patient health through safe and appropriate dispensing, counseling, and immunizing practices.
• Traveling the district to fill pharmacist shifts as scheduled by the District Performance Coordinator and serving as Pharmacy Manager’s proxy during bench shifts.
• Supporting safe and accurate prescription fulfillment by following pharmacy workflow procedures and directing the pharmacy team.
• Assuming Pharmacy Manager’s day‑to‑day duties when acting as the only or primary pharmacist‑on‑duty.
• Contributing to positive patient experiences by showing empathy, coaching the team, and resolving insurance/medication issues.
• Offering and delivering immunizations and supporting pharmacy technicians to learn immunization skills.
• Managing pharmacy inventory with best practices, focusing on cold chain protection.
• Remaining flexible for scheduling and business needs while maintaining a safe, inclusive, and engaging team.
• Maintaining relevant clinical and technical skills and actively seeking knowledge to support patients.
• Supporting access to care and providing pharmacist‑delivered clinical services such as testing and prescribing.
• Understanding and complying with federal and state laws, regulations, professional standards, and CVS Health policies, including controlled substance dispensing.

• Active Pharmacist License in the state where the store is located.
• Active National Provider Identifier (NPI).
• Not on the DEA Excluded Parties list.

• Ability to travel within a reasonable radius to support market staffing.
• Regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends.
• Ability to complete required training within designated timeframe.

• Any additional tasks as directed by supervisor or manager.

• 1–2 years of related work experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting.

$60.00 – $76.00 per hour (base salary). The range is the base hourly rate or full‑time annual salary; additional compensation may be eligible.
