We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic ST3+ Haematology Doctor to join our dynamic and forward-thinking Haematology Department for a fixed term 12-month contract. This is an excellent opportunity for a doctor with prior Core Medical Training (or equivalent) who is looking to further develop their skills within a busy but supportive NHS environment.
You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team delivering high-quality care across malignant and non-malignant haematology
, laboratory haematology, and inpatient and outpatient services.
LED ST3+ in Haematology based at Kettering General Hospital. You will gain lots of haematology experience in a busy but friendly department working alongside 5 Haematology Consultants, 2 Specialist Registrars and 3 FY1 doctors. This post is not recognised for training however will provide excellent clinical and laboratory haematology experience with some opportunities for education and training. The post would be suitable for a doctor wanting a broad experience in haematology prior to specialist training.
You will need to be eligible to work in the UK and hold full GMC registration and a license to practise. MRCP Clinical work includes outpatients, inpatient care including chemotherapy. There will also be opportunity to gain experience in laboratory haematology and bone marrow biopsies. with full GMC registration and experience in cancer treatment and required to have knowledge of management of haematology and oncological emergencies.
The precise duties will vary according to the previous experience of the appointee. Candidates will be expected to cover the emergency assessment bay, wards, and chemotherapy suites. Educational opportunities, equivalent to those afforded to doctors participating in recognised training schemes will be provided. We are keen to encourage applications from candidates who have already chosen to train in Haematology and are wishing to further develop their skills.

Job responsibilitiesThe main duties, roles and responsibilities of the post include:
Clinical The post-holders duties will be primarily at Kettering General Hospital (KGH), but it is a condition of all appointments that post-holders will be willing to work at Northampton General Hospital. The post holder will perform the duties of a JCF (CT1/2) to the Haematology team which is based at the KGH. The team treats patients with a variety of haematological conditions.
The post contains opportunities to participate in research, learn about intensive chemotherapy, immunotherapy and targeted therapies for the treatment of cancer. Candidates will be expected to cover…
