About the Team

The CATCH Team are part of the Integrated Specialist Nursing team comprising the CATCH Team (Community Assessment and Treatment of Children at Home), Long Term Conditions, Training, Home Respite and the Nurse led Continence Service.

Currently open Monday to Friday until September 2026, the CATCH Team provide a service from 8am-9pm 7 days a week. The post holder will work as part of a team assessing acutely unwell children in their own homes/community, taking referrals from GPs, EMAS and the acute hospital. With the aim to reduce hospital admissions and manage the child safely within the community setting, the post holder will work autonomously in both GP hubs and community settings as first contact, assessing, diagnosing, managing and prescribing for children under 6 years of age presenting with acute illness, along with providing an alternative to hospital admission, utilizing acute assessment skills and intervention on a flexible basis;

educating and empowering parents to provide safe effective care within the home setting.

We also provide health services to various prisons and detention centres in Bedfordshire and Cambridgeshire.

£38,682 to £46,580 a year On call pro rata (when reinstated in September 2026)
