Position: Waiting List Officer

Responsibilities

  • Negotiate and book all patient procedures / diagnostics within the department.
  • Arrange any follow‑up appointments as requested by clinicians.
  • Maintain the unappointed waiting list and ensure patients are booked for the appropriate investigations/OPA’s.
  • Handle telephone enquiries, liaise with internal and external sources to resolve any issues, queries or complaints from patients or relatives, including difficult situations.
  • Complete triaging of new patients alongside the consultant to ensure clinics are being correctly utilised.
Qualifications
  • Proven clerical background with a pro‑active approach to a range of varied tasks.
  • Excellent communication, organisational and prioritising skills.
Application Process

Applications will be transferred to the TRAC system; by completing an application you give authorisation for the transfer of your data. Correspondence regarding your application will be sent to you via a TRAC system account.

In submitting an application form, you authorise Kettering General Hospital (KGH) NHS Foundation Trust to confirm any previous NHS service details via the Electronic Staff Record (ESR) Inter‑Authority Transfer (IAT) process, including factual reference, occupational health clearance and statutory and mandatory training records.

If a DBS check is required for the role, you will be required to repay the cost of obtaining a DBS check (£49.50) which will be reclaimed from your first salary. From 1st February 2019 all new starters to the Trust are required to join the DBS update service costing £16 annually. New employees who do not join the update service will be required to pay £49.50 for a new DBS check in 3 years time.

Please note that new starters with KGH are subject to a six‑month probationary period.
