Overview

Role: Lecturer – Computing

Location: Tresham College – Kettering, Corby and Wellingborough Campuses

Salary/Benefits: Between £33,048 and £38,169 per annum DOE and Qualifications, 45 days annual leave plus Bank holidays, Teacher’s pension, Retail and Leisure Discounts, excellent professional and personal development opportunities, accessing college courses. Note – Salary and Annual Leave entitlement is for that of a Qualified Lecturer.

Hours/Weeks: 37 hours per week – 52 weeks per year

About

The Role

We are currently seeking a Lecturer in Computing to join our Computing & Digital Technologies department at The Bedford College Group.

  • Teaching & Assessment – Prepare, deliver, and assess computing courses from Level 1 to Level 5, ensuring high-quality and inclusive learning experiences.
  • Student Support & Progress – Guide learners to achieve success, monitor performance, provide tutorials, and maintain accurate records.
  • Curriculum Development & Innovation – Contribute to schemes of work, create engaging materials, and support new course development aligned with industry trends.
  • Quality Assurance & Engagement – Implement quality processes, participate in marketing activities, and liaise with awarding bodies to maintain standards.
  • Compliance & College Responsibilities – Uphold safeguarding, EDI, and health & safety requirements; support exams, open days, and College-wide initiatives.
About You
  • Essential Qualifications – Degree in computing or relevant industry experience, GCSE English and Maths, valid DBS and visa status.
  • Teaching & Quality Experience – Proven experience teaching Level 2–4, knowledge of FE quality assurance systems, and ability to use IT/data for course improvement.
  • Core Skills & Competence – Strong communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills; ability to meet deadlines and deliver high-quality learning experiences.
  • Professional Attributes – Ability to influence, lead, and work under pressure; maintain confidentiality, promote College values, and uphold safeguarding and EDI standards.
  • Flexibility & Mobility – Willingness to adapt hours, travel across campuses, and maintain health & safety awareness, including risk assessment capability.
