Shifts are assigned within the following general hours and may vary by position and operational need:

  • Monday - Friday: 5:30 AM - 12:00 PM
  • Saturdays: 6:00 AM - 11:00 AM

Scope of Work

The Security Guard position is responsible for the protection, safeguarding, and security of personnel, visitors, and property at the assigned site. Duties include monitoring access, conducting routine patrols, guiding and controlling traffic, providing safe pedestrian crossings, and assisting visitors. Patrols may be conducted indoors and outdoors.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct routine patrols of assigned areas to deter, detect, and report safety or security concerns.
  • Monitor and control pedestrian and vehicular traffic to ensure safe site operations.
  • Enforce site rules and security procedures and address unauthorized access as needed.
  • Respond appropriately to incidents and emergencies, including notifying emergency responders.
  • Complete required reports and documentation related to incidents or site activity.
  • Provide assistance and information to visitors and staff.
  • Adhere to company policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Minimum six (6) months of experience working with the public or in a customer-facing role.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a State of Alaska Security Guard license.
  • Ability to obtain First Aid and CPR certification within required time frames.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and interact professionally with the public.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and security procedures.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid state driver's license and a safe driving record, in accordance with company policy, to operate vehicles or equipment as required for the position.
Physical Demands / Work Environment
  • Physical requirements include (but are not limited to) the ability to lift 50 pounds, pushing, pulling, carrying, stooping, bending, squatting, and reaching for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to work on-call, alternate, and extended shift schedules when necessary to meet the mission requirements, including weekends and holidays.
  • Work may be performed indoors or outdoors in varying weather conditions. Must be able to work in confined spaces, at heights, and around various hazards with appropriate PPE.

All candidates must successfully complete pre-employment screening, which may include, but is not limited to, a criminal background check, motor vehicle record review, and a 5-panel drug test, in accordance with company policy and applicable laws.
