Peace Health Ketchikan Medical Center is seeking a full‑time, day‑shift Physical Therapist to join our relationship‑centered Therapy team. We provide a full complement of Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, and Speech services, including Acute Inpatient Rehab, Transitional Care Unit, Home Health, and Outpatient Rehab.

Hourly compensation starts at $39.99, with a salary range of $50.84–$71.77. The hiring rate is dependent upon factors such as education, training, work experience, collective bargaining agreements, and seniority.

As a Physical Therapist, you will treat a variety of diagnoses while partnering with physicians, nurses, social workers, the diabetes educator, and registered dietitian to provide the Therapy plan of care. Our therapists conduct hour‑long evaluations, one‑to‑one patient care, and determine treatment time as needed.

Job Summary

Responsible for the evaluation of patients, determining the plan of care and treatment goals, and participating in the treatment of patients within the scope of Physical Therapy. May provide oversight to therapy assistants and/or students and supervise therapy aides or volunteers. Works as part of a patient‑care team toward the best outcomes for the patient.

What you will do
  • Evaluate assigned patients and establish a treatment plan and goals, using data from patient records, interviews, observations, and team members.
  • Provide patient treatment according to plan of care, modifying it to meet patient needs and updating it as appropriate.
  • Complete documentation accurately and timely, in accordance with regulatory and state licensure requirements and professional standards.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure smooth, continuous care of patients; act as liaison with nursing, medical, and other therapy staff to facilitate problem solving and coordination of services; serve as an educational resource.
  • Mentor and provide oversight to new caregivers, physical therapist assistants, and/or therapy aides; provide clinical instruction and training to students.
  • Recommend and participate in the development of new services and programs, quality improvement, and monitoring activities.
  • Participate in staff meetings, patient‑care meetings, educational in‑services, caregiver orientation, and other professional activities.
Qualifications Education
  • Bachelor's, Master's or Doctorate Degree in Physical Therapy accredited by the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education or a closely related field (foreign equivalents accepted).
  • Physical Therapist Licensee in the State of Alaska.
  • Basic Life Support upon hire.
  • New graduates considered.
