Overview
Responsible for planning and leading recreation activities for children in a structured camp program.
Responsibilities- Assist the Recreation Programmer in planning, securing supplies, and leading recreation activities for children.
- Enforce all facility rules and regulations during activity hours.
- Work up to 40 hours per week, occasionally outside in adverse weather conditions.
- Interact regularly with the general public. Contacts are normally routine and of a non-adversarial nature.
- Perform similar and incidental duties as assigned by the Recreational Programmer.
Experience working with children preferred. Ability to follow written daily plans. Ability to communicate positively with the public, children, staff and supervisors. Must be able to hear. Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Ability to use hands to finger, handle, or operate objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms;
climb or balance; stoop, kneels, crouch, and taste of smell. Each of the listed activities also requires standing, sitting, walking, bending, stooping, climbing on stools, and ladders, and routinely lift and carry items and boxes up to forty (40) pounds.
Administering CPR and first aid as needed. Leading games and supervising children in a variety of physical activities.
