Job Summary
Under the direction of the Pool Manager and the Recreation Manager, the Assistant Pool Manager will assist in the operation and management of city-owned pool, including supervision of staff and programs as assigned. In the absence of a Pool Manager, this position will ensure the daily safety, comfort, and satisfaction of all customers using the city's aquatic facility.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities

Education, Certification and Experience Required:
- Possession of a High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
- Some college preferred.
- Possession of a valid Texas Class C Driver's License.
- 20/25 vision or better with corrective lenses.
- Jeff Ellis & Associates ILTP (International Lifeguard Training Program) License-training provided on-site at the applicant's expense.
- Must have completed at least one season as Lifeguard.
- Experience in water safety.
- Experience in public relations.
- Experience planning and conducting recreational activities preferred.
- Experience in supervising others preferred.
- Jeff Ellis Swim Instructor certification preferred
- Must be bondable.
Skills and Abilities
:
- Excellent swimming skills.
- Good supervisory, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to effectively plan, organize and maintain records, implement oral and written policies and maintain good working relationships with people of all ages.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions from supervisor.
- Ability to give verbal and physical instructions to swim lesson students.
- Ability to work with money; adding; subtracting; counting.
- Ability to exercise good judgment and provide technical assistance to assigned staff and other city staff.
- Ability to maintain regular and predictable attendance.
Continuously sits or stands, while looking, listening, and talking while monitoring and maintaining swimmer safety. Frequently stands, walks, lifts, and carries safety equipment; chairs and tables on the pool deck; pushes/pulls vacuum, broom, and water hoses, and handles equipment; kneels, bends and climbs stairs and guard stands. Occasionally reaches for safety equipment, chairs, and tables on the pool deck, and twists while demonstrating safety moves, swim lessons, and diving instructions.
