Job Summary
Under direction of the Recreation Manager, the Pool Manager is responsible for the operation and management of city-owned pool(s), including supervision of assigned staff, programs, and special events. This position will ensure the daily safety, comfort, and satisfaction of all customers using the city's aquatic facilities.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
This information is intended to be descriptive of the principal duties and responsibilities of the position. The following examples do not identify all duties performed by any single incumbent.
Education, Certification and Experience Required:
- Possession of a High School Diploma or equivalent; some college is preferred
- Possession of a valid Texas Class C Driver's License.
- Must have completed a minimum of one season as a Lifeguard.
- 20/25 vision or better with corrective lenses.
- Jeff Ellis & Associates ILTP (International Lifeguard Training Program) License - training provided on-site at the applicant's expense.
- Experience in water safety.
- Experience in public relations.
- Experience planning and conducting recreational activities and/or events preferred.
- Minimum of one-year supervisory experience preferred.
- Jeff Ellis Swim Instructor certification preferred.

:
- Excellent swimming skills.
- Good interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Good supervisory skills.
- Ability to effectively plan, organize and maintain records, implement oral and written policies.
- Ability to maintain good working relationships with people of all ages.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions from supervisor.
- Ability to give verbal and physical instructions to swim lesson students.
- Ability to exercise good judgment and provide technical assistance to assigned staff and other city staff.
- Ability to give verbal and written instructions to staff.
- Ability to work with money; adding, subtracting, counting.
- Ability to maintain proper reports including attendance, accounting, and others as assigned.
- Ability to maintain regular and predictable attendance.
- Must be bondable.
- Computer, cash register, pool vacuum and skimmer, safety equipment, telephone.
- Sun protective equipment such as 100% UV sunglasses, billed/brimmed hat or cap, and sunscreen.
- Gloves when using cleaning solutions in custodial work.
