Charge Nurse, RN Nurse
Description
Manages patient throughout and coordinates and supervises patient care activities of the hospital during assigned shift. Evaluates and coordinates staffing needs for all inpatient units. Assumes administrative responsibilities in the absence of the administrative officer. Is a resource for all departments and personnel of the hospital on nights, weekends, and holidays, and any other time department directors and/or supervisors are not available.
Advises and assists all personnel in codes or emergency situations. Renders professional nursing care to patients as necessary. Assists charge nurses and other departments to plan and deliver safe and efficient care. Works collegially with nurse directors in accomplishing each unit’s goals.
Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing - BSc Nursing
Preferred EducationMasters of Science in Nursing or related field
Required Technical Skills- Effective communication, time management, and prioritization skills, and ability to supervise multiple activities during shift, continual statistical management over patient census, ADTs and current/projected staffing.
- Coaching and staff development, particularly over charge nurses.
Registered Nurse, BLS, ACLS, PALS
Preferred Licensure/Registration/CertificationCertification in administration, staffing or related field
Required ExperienceTwo years of nursing experience
Preferred ExperienceTwo years of supervising, managing or staffing a group, unit or department.
