This position is full time, working 12‑hour day shifts (7am–7pm).

The RN is responsible for assessing the needs of each patient on the unit and planning the nursing care needed to meet those needs, including spiritual, emotional, physiological, and psychosocial needs. Once planned, the RN ensures the plan of care is carried out through performance and/or leadership of subordinate personnel. After implementation, the RN evaluates the patient’s response both verbally and in writing.

Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.

BSN.

• Patient care assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
• Effective verbal and written communication.
• Knowledge and ability to perform unit‑specific competencies, including age‑specific competencies.

• Advanced competencies demonstrated through formal Continuing Nursing Education activities.

• Unrestricted Texas license as a Registered Nurse.
• Basic Life Support.

• ACLS.

Eligibility to participate in a new RN Preceptorship program.

Six to twelve months of experience as an RN in an inpatient medical‑surgical setting.
