What does the Nurse Manager (RN) do?The Nurse Manager works in conjunction with, and by the direction of, the Director of Nursing Services to provide nursing support for operations, including consulting and advising clinicians on best practices, implementing training programs, and collaborating on interdisciplinary projects. The role supports and adheres to the US Oncology Compliance Program, including the Code of Ethics and Business Standards.
Responsibilities- Ensure clinical operations and practice align with organizational objectives.
- Collaborate with practice management on operational projects such as site Quality Committees, QOPI site assessments, Advancing Care Information, the Oncology Care Model, and other special projects.
- Facilitate the implementation and utilization of outcomes data and evidence‑based practices.
- Implement standardized best practices within the organization.
- Ensure practice standards of care are consistent with community standards.
- Incorporate clinical evidence into existing and newly developed standards.
- Develop staff, assess staffing levels and issues, patient flow, and current practices in the clinical setting.
- Assist with the development of company‑wide clinical competency testing and skills validation programs.
- Demonstrate knowledge of applicable labor laws and schedule staff including vacations, sick leave, and overtime.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing; BSN or MSN preferred.
- RN state license and current registration with the State Board of Nursing in the practicing state.
- Minimum 5 years actively practicing as a registered nurse.
- 5 years of leadership experience.
- OCN certification preferred.
- Current CPR certification required.
