The Medical Assistant, under supervision of nursing leadership, supports provider practice by assisting with direct patient care duties. Performs diagnostic testing, maintains supply inventory levels, and cleans and maintains medical equipment. Carries out all duties while maintaining compliance and confidentiality and promoting the mission and philosophy of the organization.
Required EducationHigh school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred EducationGraduate of medical assistant program or military MA program.
Required SkillsCustomer service skills, ability to use telephone and computer.
Preferred SkillsEMR (electronic medical record) experience. Basic ECG rhythm recognition or willingness to learn within 30 days of starting.
Required Licensure/Registration/CertificationCurrent AHA-approved Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) course completion card – or receive within 30 days on the job.
Preferred Licensure /Registration /CertificationMA Certification preferred.
Preferred ExperiencePrevious healthcare experience
