The Physician and Community Relations Coordinator supports relationship management and physician functions/activities and serves as liaison between the hospital and new or existing physicians and practices. Engages in problem‑solving activities, outlined in hospital policy, as necessary. They are responsible for increasing referrals to, and usage of, Peterson Health programs and services by physicians, their staff and other healthcare referring entities by developing and maintaining mutually beneficial relationships.
Connects with potential and new physicians as a point of contact to help introduce and integrate them into the hospital and the community. Promotes Peterson Health in the community through health fairs, seminars, outreach events, chamber activities, and hospital events. Works collaboratively with leadership to promote hospital service lines and respond to public relations and internal communication needs. Maintains expertise in the local healthcare industry by staying abreast of current issues, trends, and competitor messaging to identify potential opportunities for growth and expansion of Peterson Health.
Assists in new physician onboarding.
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience (3‑5 years), knowledge of hospital programs and procedures.
Preferred EducationBachelor’s degree in marketing, communication, healthcare management or related field.
Required SkillsMust have basic PC computer skills; exhibit strong communication skills (speaking and writing). Must be able to abide by the PRMC Compliance Policy and HIPAA Privacy requirements. Excellent listening skills and absolute dedication to discretion and protection of privacy. Organized, poised, able to work independently, goal‑oriented.
Preferred SkillsExperience with Medit Tech and physician order entry.
Required ExperienceExperience in medical or healthcare setting; knowledge of hospital programs and procedures.
Preferred ExperienceTwo or more years marketing experience.
