The Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) provides direct patient care services in accordance with the law and state practice act and as directed by a plan of care formulated by a Licensed Occupational Therapist. The Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant may also supervise and delegate appropriate functions to rehab technicians.
Required EducationAssociates Degree as an Occupational Therapist Assistant
Required Skills- Basic computer skills
- Good interpersonal skills
- Basic organizational and time management skills
- Basic knowledge and skills to care for the physical needs of the population served
Current Texas license as a Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant and BLS
Preferred Licensure / Registration / CertificationAdvanced skills/certifications in specialty areas
Required ExperienceWork/educational experience in the healthcare field. Experience working with a pediatric population
Preferred ExperienceOne year experience as a COTA in a healthcare setting
