RN Quality Improvement Director

THIS IS FOR A FUTURE OPENING
STGi is seeking qualified candidates for an upcoming position in connection with an active Request for Proposals (RFP). Hiring depends on STGi’s selection as the awardee.

Job Summary

The primary purpose of this position is to plan, organize, develop, coordinate and direct the facility’s quality assurance and performance improvement (QAPI) program.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure multidisciplinary QAPI activities within the facility are in accordance with established requirements.
  • Establish and implement effective, comprehensive, data‑driven QAPI programs focusing on systems of care, including indicators of outcomes of care, quality of life and resident and staff satisfaction.
  • Develop the five elements of a QAPI program and coordinate the required activities.
  • Evaluate programs and implement changes as necessary to improve programs and assure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Communicate revised plans and changes to facility management and governing bodies.
  • Develop and implement appropriate plans of action to correct identified quality deficiencies.
  • Complete necessary forms and reports and submit them to the Administrator as required.
  • Schedule QAPI Committee meetings at least quarterly and notify members of such meetings.
  • Maintain a reference library of written QAPI material, laws, etc., necessary for complying with current standards and regulations.
  • Provide reports and recommendations to the Administrator concerning the operation of the QAPI program.
  • Assume the authority, responsibility and accountability of directing the QAPI department.
  • Review the facility’s quality measures and survey reports to identify potential problem areas and report to the committee as necessary.
  • Proactively identify areas of concern for non‑compliance and develop a plan of action, measurement, training and follow‑up; develop reports to document these initiatives.
  • Participate in facility surveys as necessary or as directed.
  • Serve as chairperson of the QAPI Committee.
  • Meet with the QAPI Committee monthly to review assessment tools, data collection reports and activities that affect resident care and safety.
  • Serve on various committees of the facility (e.g., pharmacy, safety, resident care, policy advisory) as deemed appropriate.
  • Assist other committees and departments in developing monitoring tools, criteria, standards and evaluation of priority concerns impacting resident care and safety.
  • Implement recommendations from the QAPI Committee as they relate to the quality assurance program.
  • Attend and participate in annual in‑service training programs (e.g., OSHA, TB, HIPAA, abuse prevention, infection control).
Required Skills, Experience and Education

Experience and Skills:

  • Sufficient previous experience in clinical health care, including direct experience in quality assurance and performance improvement.
  • Ability to make independent decisions in timely fashion when circumstances warrant.
  • Supportive team member, contributing to and exemplifying teamwork.
  • Tactical and effective interpersonal skills with personnel, residents, families, visitors, government agencies and the general public.
  • Knowledge of quality assurance and performance improvement procedures.
  • Leadership and supervisory ability, willingness to work harmoniously with others.
  • Ability to plan, organize, develop, implement and interpret goals, objectives, policies and procedures of the QAPI program.
  • Patience, tact, cheerful disposition, enthusiasm and capacity to handle difficult residents and staff.
  • Willingness to seek new methods and principles and incorporate them into existing practices.

Education: Minimum of a two‑year degree.

Working Conditions /

Physical Requirements
  • Work in office areas and throughout the facility and premises.
  • Subject to frequent interruptions.
  • Involved with residents, family members, personnel and visitors under all conditions.
  • Work beyond normal hours and on weekends and holidays when necessary; on call 24 hr/day, 7 days/week.
