Patient Services Coordinator

Location: Kernersville, North Carolina

Department: Ortho and Sports Medicine Clinic

Employment Type: Full Time, M-F 8:00 a‑5:00 p.

What You’ll Do
  • Greet and check in patients for orthopedic appointments.
  • Record patient demographics, insurance information, charges and collections, and schedule appointments accurately and timely.
  • Cross‑train in multiple administrative support functions.
  • Collaborate with team members to achieve patient and team goals, sharing professional communication.
  • Participate in regular staff meetings and help identify areas of improvement.
What We’re Looking For
  • Education: High School Diploma or GED, required.
  • Experience: One year of clerical experience in a medical office setting, required.
  • Other related experience may be considered in lieu of medical office experience.
  • Additional skills: Knowledge of medical office software for patient demographics, charges, copays, and scheduling; excellent verbal communication; ability to work with changing priorities; strong organizational, problem‑solving, and critical thinking skills; cultural competence; confidentiality; teamwork; initiative. Basic medical terminology required; high level of EPIC system knowledge; detailed knowledge of payer billing requirements; familiarity with coding requirements for practice specialty.
  • Preferred skills: Proficiency with all computer software used in practice.
