Overview
Seeking a Gastroenterologist to care for veterans in NC! The Salisbury VA Health Care system is currently recruiting a full-time Gastroenterologist who is proficient in general GI procedures (EGD and colonoscopy) and interested in hepatology or IBD for our Kernersville Health Care Center. There are two surgeons who only scope and do clinics, and two Physician Assistants located in Kernersville. Our facility utilizes 190 Olympus scopes and provides anesthesia on select days to support a comprehensive range of general gastrointestinal (GI) procedures.
Research Opportunity: Research can be explored for an appointment lows are not circulating in Kernersville currently. There are four fellows per year in Salisbury, NC.

ResponsibilitiesThe role involves patient care within the Kernersville facility, with collaboration among a gastroenterology team and clinic-based support from two surgeons who focus on endoscopy and clinics. The position includes involvement in a broad range of GI procedures and coordination with the Kernersville team and the Salisbury VA Medical Center when applicable.
Benefits- Salary Range: $300,000-$400,000

Schedule:
There is no call at Kernersville (HCC). Can take calls at Salisbury VA Medical Center one day a week. - Paid Time Off: 50-55 days of annual paid time off per year (26 days annual leave, 13 days sick leave, 11 federal holidays, and possible 5 days for CME)
- Retirement: Traditional federal pension (5 years vesting) and federal 401K with up to 5% employer contributions by VA
- Insurance: Federal health/vision/dental/term life/long-term care (many federal programs can be carried into retirement)
- Licensure: 1 full and unrestricted license from any U.S. state or territory
- CME: Possible $1,000 per year reimbursement

- Contract: No physician employment contract and no significant restrictions on moonlighting
- U.S. Citizenship: Non-citizens may only be appointed when it is impossible to recruit qualified citizens, in accordance with VA Policy.
- Education: Doctor of Medicine degree or an equivalent degree in allopathic or osteopathic medicine is required.
- Licensure: Current, complete, and unrestricted license to practice medicine in a state, territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia.
- Residency: Completion of a residency program in an accredited core specialty.
- Board Certification: Board-certified or board-eligible. Must be eligible for academic appointment.
