Mental Health Professional - Team Lead - Bilingual Preferred

Job SummaryThe Mental Health Professional – Team Lead reports to the Assistant Program Director and Program Director and is responsible for coordinating and overseeing clinic caseloads; and provides mental health clinical services, direct treatment services to patients, and case management services to clients.
EssentialJob Responsibilities
- Maintain a caseload of clients.
- Employees shall follow the reporting requirements for incidents of Child Abuse, Elder Abuse, Adult Abuse, Dependent Adult Abuse, and Tarasoff warnings per California reporting laws.
- Attend, facilitate, co‑lead and participate in staff meetings and on‑site staff training.
- Monitor, track and oversee annual re‑assessments and treatment plans, and assign these to clinicians at site.
- Monitor and assign clinical assignments between team clinicians so duties are fairly distributed at site.
- Assist in reviewing case files to identify those that can be referred out to a community‑based provider for treatment.
- Maintain the therapy caseload for site, and triage cases that need to be expedited for therapy.
- Provide consultation to staff for high‑risk cases as required.
- Assign and coordinate group rehabilitation or group therapy services to on‑site staff.
- Prepare reports and correspondence as required.
- Assign medical records questionnaires or forms between clinicians at site.
- Document services to meet all clinical program and state requirements, including Short‑Doyle/Medi‑Cal requirements, noting significant intervention and progress toward development and attainment of a treatment plan.
- Meet with clinical mental health services staff for the purpose of reviewing client progress and to assure quality treatment planning.
- Review client files at discharge for completion, make written notes of findings, and review findings with counseling staff for the purpose of quality assurance.
- Attend and participate in staff meetings and on‑site staff training.
- Provide direct services in the clinic, and in the community, including individual and group treatment, case management, and consultation.
- Consult with and/or educate community groups, and other agencies.
- Will drive on Agency business.
- Will think and act quickly and efficiently in emergencies.
- Physical presence at the office is required.
- Employees are expected to manage their cell phone use so that the Agency cell phone stipend covers all business usage. Any calls not covered by the stipend are to be made on a company landline phone.
Job Requirements
- Licensed Preferred:
Currently licensed in the State of California as a Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC). - Masters: A Master’s degree in behavioral health science with current registration as an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT), Associate Professional Clinical Counselor (APCC) or an Associate Social Worker (ASW).
- Must be registered with Board of Behavioral Science (BBS).
- Demonstrated skills in clinical mental health services with individuals, families, and groups.
- Knowledge of mental illness and effective treatment approaches to mental disorders.
- Experience with co‑occurring substance use disorders and treatment modalities.
- Communicate effectively in written and spoken English.
- Ability to communicate effectively in written and spoken Spanish and/or Hmong is preferred.
- Intermediate computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint, Office 365, Teams, Zoom and other communication/meeting platforms.
- Possess a valid driver’s license and have access to a dependable means of transportation that is properly insured and operated in accordance with all laws. Agency insurer authorization is required.
- Ability to pass a pre‑employment criminal background check.
- Ability to pass a pre‑employment drug screen and TB test.
