Position:
Produce Department Lead (Part‑time, Mid‑Senior level)
Location:
4326 28th St SE, Kentwood, MI , United States.
Primary responsibilities include supervising the Produce and Floral area to drive sales, support members, and manage hourly associates.
- Supervise the team in Produce and Floral areas to meet the business plan and club goals.
- Communicate departmental goals, company programs, and policies; advocate for members, associates, and the company.
- Maintain an in‑depth knowledge of floor and backroom operations—quality, inventory, sanitation, equipment, safety, and compliance.
- Manage seasonality, item volume, product knowledge, and time prioritization across the department.
- Collaborate with associates to provide resources, share knowledge, and train the team.
- Leverage digital tools to plan for and drive sales, improve the shopping experience, and increase associate engagement.
- Make immediate business decisions using handheld technology related to production, training, and product quality; adopt new tools and encourage use.
- Ensure operational excellence: meet profitability targets, maintain a clean and safe work area, manage staffing, audit compliance, and display merchandise per layout plan.
- Teach and train associates; identify growth potential, provide development, and encourage career advancement.
- Source new talent internally and externally, communicating and implementing effective processes.
- Support compliance with company policies, procedures, and ethics; use the Open Door Policy and assist management with corrective actions.
- Collaborate with teams, share resources, and adapt to change; respect individuality, build trust, and strengthen the team.
- Act with integrity, humility, and transparency; make customer‑first decisions and balance short and long‑term priorities.
- Drive continuous improvement, embrace new technologies, and demonstrate curiosity and resilience.
- At least 6 months of experience working in a fresh‑production department or supervising a team.
- Successful completion of all required training and assessments within the prescribed time period.
- Age 18 years or older.
- Prior supervisory experience.
- Food Handler Certification (Food Safety).
