Shift Lead

• Open and close the store in the absence of management, including all required systems start-ups and cash handling.
• Ensure the floor and stock room are ready for the business day and manage the back door for deliveries.
• Complete product returns, order voids, customer refunds, cash drops to the safe, and provide change as requested to cash registers.
• Register all related sales on assigned cash register, including scanning errors, price verifications, items not on file, price modifications, and voids.
• Assist manager or assistant store manager reviewing order exceptions on order release day and assist reverse logistics (e.g., 1506, returns, empty package).
• Assists with bookkeeping activities, including cash report, cash counts, ledgers, and bill payment.
• Maintain accurate inventory counts and ensure the accuracy of on-hand quantities across basic departments, stockroom, and overstock locations.
• Assist with ensuring the Outdate program is followed with team members.
• Ensure compliance with state and local laws regarding regulated products (e.g., alcoholic beverages and tobacco products).
• Assist with separation of food items and product placement as specified by policies/procedures.
• Has working knowledge of store systems and store equipment.

• Engage customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services.
• Resolve customer issues and answer questions to ensure a positive customer experience.
• Model and share customer service best practices with all team members, including interpersonal habits and Walgreens service traits.

• Hold store keys to open and close without management as necessary.
• Assist with and coach other team members to work with warehouse and vendor ordering processes and open the backdoor for vendor deliveries.
• Assist manager or assistant store manager evaluating and developing displays, including promotional, seasonal, super structures, and sale merchandise.
• Maintain accurate inventory counts across all relevant locations.
• Assist with exterior and interior maintenance, ensuring clean, neat, orderly store condition.
• Assist with separation of food items and product placement following policies.
• Assist at Pharmacy out window as requested.
• Responsible for bag checks of team members before leaving the store.
• Comply with all company policies and procedures and maintain respectful relationships with coworkers.
• Complete special assignments and other tasks as assigned.

• Attend training and complete PPLs requested by Manager.

• Serve as a liaison between management and non-management team members by communicating assigned tasks to team members when store management is not present.
• Report disciplinary issues and customer complaints to management.

• One year of prior leadership, supervisory, or retail key holder work experience.
• Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English. (Except in Puerto Rico)

• Prefer the knowledge of store inventory control.
• Consider employment of qualified applicants with arrest and conviction records.
• Obtain and maintain valid PTCB certification or pharmacy license as required by state.
