Tooling Engineer - Kentwood Area

Salary Range: $73,000 - $112,000 depending on experience

• Design, develop, and modify manufacturing tooling, jigs, fixtures, and dies.
• Troubleshoot and resolve tooling-related issues on the production floor to minimize downtime.
• Implement and manage preventative maintenance programs for all tooling assets.
• Collaborate with design, production, and quality teams to optimize tooling for new product introduction and process improvements.
• Specify and procure tooling materials, components, and outsourced services.
• Conduct root cause analysis for tooling failures and implement corrective actions.
• Ensure all tooling adheres to quality standards, safety regulations, and production specifications.

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering.
• 3-5 years of experience in tooling design, fabrication, or maintenance in a manufacturing setting.
• Proficiency in CAD/CAM software (e.g., Solid Works, AutoCAD, Mastercam).
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes (e.g., machining, stamping, injection molding) and associated tooling principles.
• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot tooling issues and implement effective solutions.
• Knowledge of GD&T principles and their application.

• Experience with advanced simulation software (e.g., FEA, Moldflow analysis).
• Familiarity with additive manufacturing processes for tooling applications.
• Certification or experience in Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies.
• Proficiency in a specific CAM software for CNC machining operations.
• Background in automation or robotics integration with tooling systems.
