The OpportunityWe are collaborating with manufacturing firms in Kentwood that are seeking skilled Automation Engineers. Key Responsibilities- Design, develop, and implement industrial automation solutions using PLCs, HMIs, and SCADA systems.
- Program and configure programmable logic controllers (PLCs), human-machine interfaces (HMIs), and robotic systems.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve issues with automated production equipment and control systems.
- Optimize existing automation processes to improve efficiency, reliability, and reduce downtime.
- Collaborate with production, maintenance, and engineering teams to define automation requirements and integrate solutions.
- Conduct Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), Site Acceptance Testing (SAT), and commissioning of new automation equipment.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, including electrical schematics, control narratives, and user manuals.
- Strong proficiency in PLC programming (e.g., Siemens, Rockwell) and HMI/SCADA development.
- Demonstrated experience in designing, implementing, and troubleshooting industrial automation systems in a manufacturing environment.
- Expertise in industrial communication protocols (e.g., Ethernet/IP, Profinet, Modbus TCP/IP).
- Experience with industrial robotics, machine vision systems, or motion control applications.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related technical field.
- Experience with specific robotic platforms (e.g., FANUC, KUKA, Universal Robots) or industrial vision systems.
- Familiarity with Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) or Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) integration.
- Certification or experience with Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies.
- Knowledge of Industrial IoT (IIoT) platforms and data analytics for manufacturing.
