Driver Helper – SYGMA – Burlington, KY

Job Summary: Assist delivery driver unloading, checking the quality, and delivering the product to the customer location.

Pay: $22.93 per hour

Work Schedule: 5‑day week, Night shift

Driver helpers may assist in the following duties on occasion:

• Repair and maintain delivery equipment (load bars, straps, pallets)
• Check in drivers, trailers, returns, and equipment
• Verify truck compliance paperwork, decals, and safety indicators
• Clean truck interiors or pallets

Responsibilities:

• Unload and check product quality at customer locations, rotate and check the quality of produce.
• Drive to different locations to assist the driver with deliveries.
• Call in when a customer does not receive their entire order (shorts).
• Handle customer complaints professionally.
• Handle company equipment properly, follow written driver safety rules, and perform pre‑trip inspections.

Qualifications:

• Education: Prefer High School or GED or equivalent.
• Experience: Handcart and electric pallet jack experience.

  Proven ability to communicate articulately and perform simple arithmetic; know the product delivery schedule; confirm product meets quality and rotation standards.

Physical Demands:

• Frequent moving of product up to 50 pounds during the shift; infrequent moving up to 80 pounds.
• Must be able to climb on and off the truck box.
• Frequent bending, squatting, pushing and pulling.

Work Environment:

• Cold warehouse environment.
• Must be able to work in confined spaces.
• Must be able to work in extreme weather conditions (hot weather, rain and extremely cold temperatures).
