Description Position Title
Mobility Coach - Full-time-Contract
Reports ToMobility Coach Coordinator
FLSA-Non-Exempt Salary$20/hour
Job SummaryThe mobility coach is responsible for providing family-centered coaching to families of low income within NKCAC's service region, including assessments, plan development, advocacy, advising, service coordination, follow up, and performance reporting. They promote awareness of NKCAC services and coordinate with agency team members to move families towards their pathway out of poverty.
Specific Responsibilities- Obtain a Human Services Credential within 1 year of hire.
- Conduct initial agency assessment and develop goal plans to coordinate services and facilitate family action steps.
- Ensure that National Performance Indicators, Head Start Performance Standards, and programmatic standards are met.
- Complete paperwork and data entry necessary for enrollment, health, and other required components of Head Start Performance Standards and licensing regulations.
- Document progress for both children and adults obtained from day-to-day contact with families within the statewide software system.
- Complete one home visit per year with Head Start Teachers and check-ins as needed.
- Initiates and coordinates with NKCAC team members and other community partners to provide a holistic set of services to assist families with reaching goals.
- Coordinate with Site Administrator to plan workshops that increase skills, knowledge, and abilities for individuals/families and assist in planning parent committee meetings and other educational sessions.
- Maintain a balanced work schedule to complete remote activities, schedule community networking, and meet in person with families.
- Complete and approve parent gauge surveys twice a year.
- Develop and maintain positive, collaborative relationships with community partners in the social service, civic, government and faith-based communities.
- Recruit and provide case management and goal coaching to appropriate customers using the approved Strengths-Based Case Management model.
- Recruit and register families for Head Start and other programs as assigned.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Degree in Social Work, Human/Family Services, Counseling, preferred or related field or equivalent job experience preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and listening skills
- Efficient time management
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and electronic databases
- Compassion and empathy with the ability to identify problems and recommend solutions, inspire and motivate
- Ability to follow and apply written and verbal instructions
- Reliable transportation, valid driver's license with proof of insurance
- Must pass criminal background check and alcohol/drug screening
