Location Oldham County Stone – Rogers Group – Crestwood, KY. This is a full-time position with day shift availability. Shift times are approximately 6:00 am – 5:00 pm with overtime as needed. Starting pay for this position will be set at $30/hr; overall pay will be determined based on experience and skill set.
Position Heavy Duty Equipment Mechanic for our underground and surface operation in Crestwood, KY. Oldham County Stone is an underground limestone mine/quarry.
Responsibilities- Perform repairs, routine maintenance, and inspections on a wide variety of mining and quarry equipment and fixed plant equipment.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair a wide range of service issues affecting major components such as engines, brake systems, transmissions, torque converters, hydraulic systems, drive train components, heating/cooling and electrical systems, and other industry-related systems.
- Operate mobile equipment and a company vehicle on public highways and job sites as required.
- Work with limited supervision and schedule own work.
- Complete maintenance and work order repair records.
- Inspect machines for abnormalities or defects.
- Uncompromising focus on safety excellence.
- Minimum of three years of experience working on heavy equipment.
- Perform heavy or major maintenance repairs as needed.
- Perform routine scheduled maintenance on heavy equipment and trucks.
- Welding and fabrication ability, as needed.
- Familiarity with parts catalogs, procurement, handling, storage, and cost of heavy equipment parts.
- Ability to operate mobile equipment and a company vehicle on public highways and job sites.
- Capable of working with limited supervision and scheduling own work.
- Weekend work/overtime may be required.
- Physical ability to stoop, push, kneel, twist, and lift 70 lbs.; ability to climb and work at heights up to 20 feet; able to work in all weather conditions.
