Title: Plant Maintenance w/Lead Pay
Shift: 2nd shift (1:00 pm-10:00 pm) 40-60 hrs weekly, depending on work demand/customer needs; may have long and/or unusual work schedules.
Flooring: Varies; concrete, mud, dirt, gravel, sand
Environmental: Climate controlled when indoors. Various outdoor elements to include heat, rain, snow, ice, wind, fog, etc.
Safety Equipment: Gloves, ear protection, hard hat, safety glasses, work boots, uniform, face shield, welding helmet
Lighting: Adequate
Productivity Variables: Based on worksite demand
Workstation Variables: Normally outdoors when working in the field but inside when working in the plant.
Tools & Equipment: Power operated tools, hand tools, welding equipment including gloves, apron, sleeves; forklift, torches, chain saw, hand saw, band saw, hoist
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTION
- Oversee daily extraction activities to ensure shift targets are met.
- Monitor material flow and maintain quality specifications for various aggregate sizes.
- Enforce strict compliance with MSHA/OSHA and company safety standards, conducting regular site inspections.
- Identify mechanical issues with conveyors, crushers, or heavy mobile equipment and coordinate with maintenance teams for repairs.
- Perform maintenance/ repair for all plant equipment.
- Maintain accurate daily production logs, maintenance records, and safety inspection reports.
- Must diagnose and complete Schedule for all equipment
- May be required to operate/move heavy equipment
- Respond to calls at various plant locations/job sites to complete repairs
- Repetitive fine motor control to operate tools
- May need to pull body weight to climb in/out and on/off of equipment; may be required to work in high (100ft) and confined spaces
- Obtaining and maintaining MSHA training for working in quarry/open pit environment, following all Federal MSHA regulations while working on mine site.
- Must be capable of using 3 points of contact when climbing up and down ladder to enter and exit cab:
Frequently - Be able to demonstrate basic controls and safe operation of equipment. Perform work site inspections prior to and after work is completed. Work safely with other team members and ability to recognize and report hazards.
