Field Technician Mechanic

The Field Service Mechanic is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining construction equipment at job sites. This role requires travel to various project locations to ensure equipment is operating safely and efficiently, minimizing downtime and supporting project success.

• Travel to job sites to inspect, troubleshoot, and repair heavy construction equipment (e.g., excavators, loaders, cranes, trucks).
• Perform preventive maintenance and scheduled service on equipment in the field.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues using appropriate tools and technology.
• Communicate repair needs and timelines clearly with supervisors and project managers.
• Maintain accurate service records and submit required documentation promptly.
• Ensure all repairs meet safety and quality standards.
• Respond to emergency service calls to minimize equipment downtime.
• Keep service truck stocked with necessary tools and parts.
• Follow all company safety policies and OSHA regulations.

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in heavy equipment repair and maintenance.
• Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record; CDL preferred.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Stand, kneel, and bend for extended periods.

Frequent travel to job sites within the region; occasional overnight stays may be required.
