Crane Operator — Phillips Tank and Structure – Columbia, KY
Phillips Tanks and Structure (PTS) located in Columbia, KY is looking for a Crane Operator to join its growing team. PTS specializes in tank repair on a nationwide scale, working with welded above-ground storage tanks (ASTs), bolted tanks, and related structures. Our team uses engineering expertise aligned with API 650, API 653, AWWA D100, AWWA D103, API 12D, and other tank specifications.
We inspect, install, and repair tank systems including aluminum geodesic dome covers, aluminum internal floating roofs (IFRs), IFR mechanical shoe seals, liquid level gauges, fire protection systems, silo support structures, industrial storage tanks, and heating and insulation systems.

- Conducting machine safety checks each day
- Setting up cranes and operating them
- Moving material around site according to a plan or schedule
- Monitoring crane stability and load weights
- Working with a banksman to ensure site safety
- Making minor repairs to machinery
- Reporting issues to the supervisor
- Keeping records of materials moved
- Ensuring travel routes are clear
- NCCCO Certification
- Willing to travel up to 75% of the time anywhere in the United States
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Problem-solving ability and willingness to suggest improvements
- Excellent attendance and punctuality
- Willingness to learn
- Be at least 18 years old
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Eligible to work in the United States
- Willing to authorize background checks
- No criminal convictions for dishonesty, sexual misconduct, violence, or acts of terrorism
- Valid driver’s license
- Willing to authorize motor vehicle driving record checks
- Willing to submit to pre-hire, random, and post-incident drug and alcohol testing
- Ability to weld is a plus
