JOB SUMMARY

The Security Shift Supervisor will be responsible for ensuring the efficient operation of the Security Department during the assigned shift, in accordance with the company’s established policies, procedures, and controls, as well as overseeing warehouse receiving operations for the property.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Ensure the safety and security of team members, guests, and property assets.

  • Supervise and monitor security operations to maintain compliance with policies, procedures, and gaming regulations.
  • Delegate authority, assign responsibilities, and schedule officer post rotations.
  • Lead and support recruitment, hiring, onboarding, and retention efforts for security personnel.
  • Conduct performance reviews, coaching, and corrective actions as needed.
  • Develop, evaluate, and train team members, including leading safety and operational training sessions.
  • Investigate incidents, accidents, and guest complaints; prepare accurate reports and documentation.
  • Oversee programs and processes to reduce and control lost‑time injuries.
  • Collaborate with management and department heads to address operational needs.
  • Maintain positive relationships with local law enforcement and emergency services.
  • Operate company vehicles and/or equipment when required (valid driver’s license required).
  • Ensure staff compliance with the Emergency Disaster Plan Manual and other safety protocols.
  • Available to work varying schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays, and to adjust schedule with at least two weeks’ notice when required.
  • Oversee and coordinate the Receiving Attendant’s daily activities to ensure accurate, timely, and secure receipt, inspection, and documentation of all incoming deliveries.
  • Ensure all receiving operations follow company policies, safety guidelines, and inventory control procedures, addressing discrepancies or issues promptly.
  • Other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Management abilities demonstrated in managing security operational effectiveness.
  • Maintain interpersonal working relationships among all personnel.
  • Oral and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of the Emergency Disaster Plan Manual.
  • Willingness to assume overall responsibility relative to the performance of the Security department.
  • Advanced customer service and problem‑solving skills.
  • Interact with local law enforcement agencies as required.
  • Knowledge of local jurisdiction gaming laws (federal, state, etc.) and regulations, as well as company internal controls, policies, and procedures.
  • Available to work when needed, including weekends, holidays, and nights.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • 1‑3 years of experience as a security officer/law enforcement officer (Prior Hotel/Casino Security preferred).
  • A 2‑year degree in related fields or equivalent work experience is preferred.
  • Able to obtain and maintain a valid Kentucky gaming/racing license
