RequirementsJob Overview
We are hiring for a Research Assistant 2, Department of Oncology/Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center/Georgetown University Medical Center – Georgetown University. The candidate should be familiar with day‑to‑day assistance required in the laboratory such as ordering reagents, keeping inventories, autoclaving, knowledge of lab safety standards and their routine and timely inspection etc. In addition, the person should be able to carry out the laboratory techniques such as Western blotting, PCR, RT‑PCR;
should be conversant with tissue culture techniques. Being an immunology/immunotherapy laboratory, majority of work in the lab requires handling mice, including tumor implantation, injections, breeding mice colonies as well as collecting tissues and their processing. Therefore, an experience in working with mice is desired or the person should be willing to get trained and work with mice. About 20% of the work (or one day in the week) can be performed warranted remotely.
Interactions
The candidate would work in collaboration with the lab members and would report to Dr. Khleif and Dr. Gupta.
Requirements and Qualifications- Havehede basic knowledge of cancer biology and various techniques used in this field of research
- A M.S. in Cell Biology/Immunology|| /Cancer Biology or B.S. (Biological Sciences) with relevant experience (1‑2 years) is preferred for this position.
