Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dietary Aide to join our team in providing high-quality meals for our residents in a hospital or assisted living environment. The ideal candidate will have a passion for culinary arts and a commitment to food safety and customer service. This role is essential in ensuring that all dietary needs are met while maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and food handling practices.

• Prepare and cook nutritious meals according to established recipes and dietary guidelines.
• Ensure all food is prepared in compliance with food safety regulations and sanitation standards.
• Maintain cleanliness in the kitchen and dining areas, adhering to health department regulations.
• Collaborate with dietary staff to plan menus that meet the nutritional needs of residents.
• Assist in inventory management, including ordering supplies and monitoring stock levels.
• Provide excellent customer service by addressing resident preferences and dietary restrictions.
• Participate in training programs related to culinary skills, food safety, and customer service.
• Maintain accurate records of food preparation, portion sizes, and waste management.

• Proven experience as a cook in a hospital, nursing home, or assisted living facility is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling techniques.
• Excellent time management skills to ensure timely meal preparation and service.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while also being self-motivated.
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with residents and staff.
• Culinary degree or relevant certification is a plus but not required.
• Must be able to lift heavy items (up to 50 pounds) as needed for food preparation and storage.
