Assistant Director of Nursing; ADON – Skilled Nursing Facility

Overview

We are seeking a compassionate, organized, and experienced Nurse Leader to join our team as an Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON). This role supports the Director of Nursing and plays a key part in ensuring excellent, resident centered care in our skilled nursing community.

• Support the Director of Nursing in the daily operations of the nursing department.
• Assist with resident assessments, care planning, and clinical oversight.
• Monitor quality assurance, infection control, and regulatory compliance.
• Provide coaching, leadership, and mentorship to nursing staff.
• Participate in staffing coordination and workforce planning.
• Oversee clinical documentation to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
• Promote a resident-first, home-like environment with high standards of care.
• Serve as a resource during surveys and quality audits.
• Assist with onboarding, training, and competency validation for nurses and CNAs.

• Current RN license in Kentucky (required).
• Experience in long-term care, skilled nursing, or geriatric nursing preferred.
• Prior experience in leadership, charge nurse, or supervisory roles.
• Strong understanding of CMS regulations, care planning, MDS awareness, and best practices for skilled nursing care.
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and organizational skills.
• Ability to support staff while holding high standards for quality and compliance.
