Position: Med-Surg Nurse (RN) in Benton, KY
Location: Benton

Deliver critical stepdown care in a dynamic hospital environment requiring strong clinical judgment and patient advocacy. This role focuses on managing complex patients with multi-system organ involvement, emphasizing continuous assessment, evidence-based intervention, and multidisciplinary coordination to promote stability and quality of life.

Location: Benton, KY
Benton offers a welcoming small-town atmosphere with access to outdoor recreational activities and community events. Its proximity to larger cities provides additional amenities while maintaining a relaxed pace of life.

Position Details:
  • 12-hour PM shifts
  • Even-odd week schedule (EOH/EOW)
  • No block scheduling available
  • Local candidates within 50 miles of the hospital are not considered
  • Dysrhythmia exam required at orientation (Study Guide provided)
  • Must read cardiac telemetry strips
  • Contract assignment
Qualifications / Desired Experience:
  • Current RN license in the working state or compact license
  • Minimum 1 year RN experience; acute care hospital experience preferred
  • BLS required prior to patient care; ACLS preferred
  • CCRN, PCCN, and NIH Stroke Certification strongly preferred
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred
  • Familiarity with EPIC EHR preferred
  • Ability to manage patients requiring advanced cardiac monitoring and care
Responsibilities and Duties:
  • Perform comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized care plans
  • Administer medications safely and accurately according to protocols
  • Coordinate patient care across multiple hospital departments
  • Serve as patient and family advocate in collaboration with interdisciplinary teams
  • Apply AACN Synergy Model to meet physiological and psychosocial needs
  • Respond effectively to changes in patient condition with clinical expertise
  • Ensure patient safety and participate in ongoing quality improvement
  • Educate and orient nursing staff as needed
Work Environment and Physical Requirements:
  • Exposure to high stress and fluctuating workloads
  • Potential exposure to infectious materials and hazardous substances
  • Physical demands include lifting, pushing, stooping, standing, and walking regularly
  • Must maintain composure in emergencies and challenging situations
