Job Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced Operating Room RN for a hospital-based OR and Recovery Room role requiring a KY or compact RN license and strong surgical skills.
Responsibilities- Work in the Operating and Recovery Room of a hospital setting
- Handles a variety of surgical cases including general, endarterectomy, aneurysm, vessel procedures, orthopedics, ORIF, arthroscopy, general surgery, laparoscopic, GI endoscopy, limited GYN, and some ENT procedures
- Assists with PACU patient recovery during call back situations
- 12-hour shifts from 07:00 to 19:30 with a 36/48 hour workweek rotation
- Required to take one call shift per week and one call weekend per month
- Orientation occurs bi-weekly
- No local candidates accepted; must reside at least 100 miles from the facility
- Duties include circulating and scrubbing for a range of surgical specialties and assisting with PACU patient recovery when called back
- Expected to float within the OR and recovery room as needed
- Travel pairs are not typically allowed except in rare circumstances
- Annual license and certification updates are required per state and facility regulations
- Active KY or compact RN license required
- Minimum 2 years of OR RN experience
- Current certifications in BLS, ACLS, and PALS (AHA only)
- PACU experience required for call back recovery support
- Copy of driver's license required for consideration
- Two professional references required
- Cannot have previous permanent employment with the facility
