Big Sandy Community and Technical College is seeking a creative, detail-oriented Marketing & Communications Specialist I to support the college’s student outreach, branding, and communication initiatives. This role plays a key part in shaping the visual identity of the institution, managing social media presence, and producing high quality marketing materials.
Job Duties Graphic Design- Develop visually engaging graphics for events, programs, recruitment efforts, and general outreach.
- Create brochures, flyers, and promotional materials that align with brand standards.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to interpret ideas and translate them into intuitive, appealing designs.
- Produce content, posts, and pages that attract and engage target audiences.
- Create enrollment-focused social media graphics and maintain a consistent posting schedule.
- Track and report on engagement metrics as part of enrollment centered goals.
- Monitor brand- and product-related conversations across multiple platforms.
- Assist in maintaining a cohesive and accurate representation of the college’s brand.
- Increase traffic across social media and website channels.
- Analyze user activity and engagement trends.
- Monitor SEO and web traffic metrics to improve online reach.
- Support PR functions including occasional writing of press releases.
- Participate in crisis management and communications groups as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support departmental operations.

- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in graphic design, marketing, communications, or a related field.
- Proficiency with design software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite or similar tools).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects with minimal supervision.
- Experience with social media management and digital marketing analytics preferred.
