Job Functions:
Nucor Tubular Products - Gallatin is seeking applicants for the Shipping Supervisor position. The Shipping Supervisor is primarily responsible for leading and developing team members, focusing on a strategy and vision that aligns with division and corporate goals. This includes setting expectations that ensure safe operations and efficient flow of our production floor, managing costs, educating the team on business dynamics, preparing proposals and justifications for projects, and driving personal development for each teammate.
The successful candidate will lead and develop a team that properly manages producing products from raw materials to shipping finished product that exceeds our customers’ expectations, and will foster relationships with internal and external customers. The role involves regular interactions with scheduling/production control, sales, and other divisions to ensure shipments are scheduled properly and on-time delivery is a priority. Supervisors are expected to work collaboratively to align with the best interests of Nucor Tubular Group and to guide the team to safety and personal development.
The role may require a flexible schedule, including scheduled and unscheduled overtime, rotating shifts, and weekends.
Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; candidates must demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
Minimum Qualifications- Prior leadership experience
- Strong computer skillset
- Understands inventory management
- Actively engaged in Safety performance and improvements
- 3+ years experience in a production/material handling role
