Position Type:
Intern/Co‑op (spring/summer)

The role supports the development of high‑quality steel products through data analysis, quality assurance, and cross‑functional collaboration. Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

• Compile and analyze mechanical testing and chemical composition data
• Verify material compliance with customer/major society specifications
• Assist in metallographic preparation and analysis
• Organize and maintain technical documentation
• Support problem‑solving efforts throughout steel production processes
• Communicate effectively with teams across the mill
• Uphold and promote Nucor's safety standards and practices

Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the US;
Nucor Steel Brandenburg will not sponsor visa now or in the future.

• Enrollment in a 4‑year undergraduate or non‑thesis graduate program (Preferred)

• Interest in metallurgy and materials science
• Strong analytical and data interpretation skills
• Experience with computer science, coding languages, SPC, and Microsoft Office
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
