Job Overview
Lead the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of manufacturing processes for machined parts and pump assemblies. Drive the development of detailed work instructions, standard work, and SOPs to exceed scrap and lead time objectives while ensuring compliance with all regulatory and ethical standards.
Responsibilities- Develop complete processes and routes for machined parts and pump assemblies to meet or exceed organizational scrap and lead time goals.
- Write detailed work instructions, SOPs, and standard work, both written and visual.
- Train employees on processes, procedures, and tools.
- Conduct process analysis, applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, test, paint, shipping specifications, and materials.
- Design and implement fixtures, gauges, and performance test operations.
- Determine root cause of failures using statistical methods (e.g., design of experiments, statistical process control).
- Lead continuous improvement projects and Kaizen events using lean tools that support key metrics and strategic goals.
- Evaluate product designs for manufacturability.
- Participate in evaluation, procurement, and startup of new capital equipment, including writing detailed capital appropriation requests.
- Develop and manage multiple project plans and schedules within timing and cost constraints.
- Maintain professional knowledge through workshops, publications, industry networks, and professional associations.
- Mentor and support less experienced employees.
- Comply with all government, regulatory, ethical, and security requirements.
- Perform other duties as assigned and actively participate in required programs, trainings, and meetings.
- Strong skills in Windows, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project, CAD, Solid Works or similar design software; 3D modeling and CNC programming experience is a plus.
- Ability to solve practical problems and interpret varied instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Proficiency in mathematical concepts such as probability, statistical inference, geometry, and trigonometry; application to practical situations.
- Ability to read and interpret comprehensive documentation, including part drawings, assembly drawings, safety rules, maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Strong planning, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ambitious, team‑driven mindset.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or manufacturing technology with lean training.
- 5‑6 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
- 5‑6 years of leading lean manufacturing initiatives.
- 6‑Sigma Green Belt certification preferred (optional).
