Production Manager

- Team Leadership:
Supervise and mentor production supervisors, team leads, and operators; set performance goals and conduct evaluations. - Manage Production
Schedule:
Develop and implement plans to meet production schedules that satisfy customer demand, quality expectations, and established ship dates. - Supervise Staff:
Lead and motivate production teams, monitor performance, evaluate staff, and identify training needs. - Resource Management:
Manage the allocation of resources, including personnel, materials, and equipment to meet production requirements. - Safety Compliance:
Ensure compliance with company safety policies. - Quality Control:
Work with Quality Assurance to ensure products meet specifications and resolve quality issues quickly. - Continuous Improvement:
Promote a culture of continuous improvement to eliminate issues that disrupt the production process. - Collaboration:
Ensure open communication and effective collaboration between production teams and supporting departments to prevent production delays, quality issues, and safety risks. - Work with Maintenance to develop and implement preventative maintenance plans:
Creating schedules for routine inspections, cleaning, and servicing of equipment to prevent breakdowns and extend asset lifespan. - Reporting and analysis:
Generate reports on production KPI’s, activities, and present to stakeholders. - Process Compliance:
Ensure all production activities comply with established processes, work instructions, quality standards, and safety requirements to achieve consistent and repeatable results.
- Leadership:
Ability to supervise, motivate, and manage a team effectively. - Administration and Management:
Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources. - Communication:
Strong communication skills to convey information effectively to staff, management, and other departments. - Critical Thinking:
Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems. - Financial Management:
Comprehension of financial statements and the impacts of costs on gross margin and net revenue. - Technical and Analytical
Skills:
Proficiency in relevant software and the ability to analyze data to improve processes. - Understanding of Production Processes:
Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods. - Problem‑solving
Skills:
Diagnosing equipment production and related issues, identifying root causes, and developing effective solutions. - Regulatory Knowledge:
Knowledge of OSHA and EPA requirements. - Lean Manufacturing:
Demonstrates the ability to apply lean manufacturing principles to eliminate waste, improve process flow, and increase productivity while maintaining quality and safety. - Time Management:
Strong ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.
- 10+ years of experience in manufacturing.
- 5+ years of experience in leadership positions.
- 3+ years of experience as a production manager.
Physical Requirements
- This position requires the incumbent’s presence on site in the plant / in the office for a minimum of 40 hours per week.
