Maintenance Technician / Mechanic
Overview
To perform a variety of finish painting applications and painting related activities requiring a high level of knowledge related to techniques, tools, equipment and safety precautions. To adhere to the general safety plan. May be required to do other duties, including blasting and undercoating, as requested by supervisor. Primary job functions typically require exercising a high level of independent judgement. Performs work at a high-quality level consistent with Wabash National/Transcraft standard practice.
Supervised by supervisor, general foreman, manager or department head.

QualificationsMust have both written and verbal communication skills. High School degree or G.E.D. equivalent is preferred for this position. Must pass an initial and an annual pulmonary exam. Must complete respiratory fit testing as needed and adhere to guidelines. Must complete painters' safety training. Must meet the above qualifications before assuming undercoating or painting duties. May be required to successfully complete other special training for specific assignments.
PhysicalDemands
The work environment includes exposure to high decibels, temperature and weather variations, metal welding processes, and chemicals which may include solvents, undercoating, paint, and caulking.
