The Role
Mobile Equipment Operator I Haul Truck position is a key role responsible for transporting materials throughout the quarry into piles, trucks, or crushers, depending upon production or shipping requirements.
The Operator will maintain a night shift schedule.
What You'll Accomplish- Primary operations of haul trucks; water trucks and fuel truck.
- Operating mobile equipment including front end loaders (993, 992, 980, etc.), haul trucks, dozers, backhoes, graders, excavators, fuel truck, dredge, and skid steer loaders, depending on quarry operational requirements.
- Inspect all operating equipment each shift, complete inspection sheets, and report problems.
- Correct malfunctions or irregularities of operating equipment and safety hazards, or report to quarry supervisor if corrections cannot be made.
- Take accurate and reliable counts of material additions as required.
- Maintain strong communication with quality personnel and adjust material blends as required.
- Communicate all safety, maintenance, and production needs.
- Carry out other responsibilities as assigned.
- Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving, and adhering to health, safety, and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.
- High School diploma or GED; ability to read and write.
- Experience working in varying weather elements; quarry experience preferred.
- Experienced with operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting heavy equipment.
- Ability to perform rigorous physical activities in all weather conditions.
- Self‑motivated with a solid work ethic.
- Highly dependable, able to work in a fast‑paced environment.
- Ability to learn plant flow, plant operations, and screening.
- Willingness to work in a team environment and assist co‑workers or supervisors with other duties as required.
- Shift work, callouts, scheduled and unscheduled overtime, weekend and holiday work. Employees may have the work schedule adjusted on short notice.
- Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment (PPE), including respirators. Employees required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit test.
