Skilcraft is seeking qualified aerospace welders to work in a precision fabrication shop. The role involves reading and interpreting blueprints, sourcing materials, measuring and cutting components, performing welding, and inspecting finished parts to ensure they meet the specified tolerances.

• Read and understand blueprints prior to starting a project.
• Sourced and selected materials required for welding operations.
• Measured and cut materials to the specifications shown on the blueprints.
• Welded components using the correct procedures to join metals together.
• Inspected finished work to ensure it falls within the tolerances marked on the blueprints.
• Performed process inspection, certification, and documentation.
• Maintained welding equipment through routine maintenance activities.
• Performed grinding and finishing tasks using manual and power grinding tools.
• Conducted routine maintenance on grinding equipment.

• Completion of vocational school or machine trade school welding course.
• Ability to pass various welding certification tests.
• Mechanical ability and knowledge of sheet metal fabrication.
• Proficiency with measuring instruments to produce parts within decimal tolerances.
• Conversion to and from metric units.
• Strong decision‑making skills in production and work process environments.
• Basic math ability and understanding of mechanical principles.

• Independent, reliable, and able to perform work with little supervision.
• Creative, initiative‑driven, and willing to propose new ideas and assignments.
• Adheres to safety, conduct rules, and company policies.

• Must stand 2–3 hours continuously, sit, walk, climb stairs, bend, and stoop as required.
• Must reach and grasp parts repeatedly throughout the day.
• Lift 45–60 lbs. alone and up to 120 lbs. with a buddy.

• Aerospace fabrication shop conditions with exposure to dust, noise, and extreme temperatures.
• Welding environment requiring specific personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Workers operate in semi‑proximity with others.

Salary: $50,000 – $60,000 per year (Taylor Mill, KY)
