Quality Assurance (QA) Leader - 2nd Shift & 3rd Shift

Position at Sumitomo Electric Wiring Systems, Inc.

Lead quality assurance activities during the 2nd and 3rd shifts, ensuring functional, dimensional, and visual inspections meet established procedures.

• Manage daily lab functions and ensure inspections are completed accurately.
• Ensure check sheets are completed accurately.
• Train new/current operators on proper methods, instructions, tools, and procedures.
• Identify and resolve errors, directing operators to follow policies, procedures, and testing methods.
• Develop training materials, toolboxes, and perform compliance audits.
• Oversee lab workflow, enforce company policies, and report policy breaches.
• Maintain calibrating tools and records in compliance with calibration requirements.
• Maintain a clean and orderly work area and lead others in safety regulations.
• Perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.

• Physical ability to lift or move materials 25–35 lbs, walk, stand, lift, bend, and reach regularly.
• Ability to obtain forklift and stand‑up lift certification.
• Must wear required PPE (bump caps, safety toe shoes, safety glasses, masks, ear plugs, harness, gloves, aprons, etc.).
• Pass leader test, color blindness test, and vision screening.
• Successful interview.
• Willingness to work adjusted hours to complete tasks or cover absenteeism during other shifts.
• Prior computer skills preferred.
• Excellent communication skills with direct reports and departments.
• Ability to perform essential functions of the QA Operator and QA Leader positions.
• Knowledge of backtracking procedure, recall procedure, reject tag procedure, quarantine area procedure, deviation procedures, and IPP procedures.

Experience in automotive or electrical manufacturing QA environments.
